Background:
I grew up in Denton, Texas and began singing for people when I was 6 years old. In fact, while attending North Texas Lab School on the NTSU (now UNT) campus, I stood up on the school bus during a first grade field trip and sang "When You're Smilin'” for the class. They all clapped for me. When my mother picked me up after school that day, I was so excited and told her I sang for the class. That’s when she gave me the best advice ever, “Never stop singing” … and I never have. The next year Miss Hodges, our Music teacher, asked me to sing "O Holy Night" for the Christmas play. Three years later, in 5th Grade, she picked me to sing a solo, while performing a child's part, in the NTSU Italian Opera "La Boheme". After that night I knew I wanted to sing for the rest of my life!

When I was 13, I taught myself how to play guitar and sing folk music. When I was 18 and a senior at Denton High School, I sang my first gig at "The Mug and Pitcher" on the NTSU campus. Even though I loved music and was building quite a list of restaurants and clubs around the DFW area, my father gave me the advice to do the sensible thing and major in business and keep music as a hobby. I graduated from NTSU with a B.B.A. degree in Business/Marketing and went to work in the Grocery/Health & Beauty Care industry working for several manufacturers managing food brokers and calling on most of the Grocery/Convenience Store headquarters around the country. I had a great career for over 30 years. In 2008, the economy crashed, and my industry changed. There were very few Regional Manager jobs left in my industry, and I found myself at a crossroads.

While beginning my own brokerage company, I also went back to performing in nightclubs and restaurants. In 2009, it was suggested that I should start singing in Senior Communities where I recently passed 11,300 shows in OVER 430 senior communities/facilities. I also started a full-time music business as a Moblie DJ, Karaoke host, and singing the National Anthem and “God Bless America” for the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, Lone Star Park, and others. My proudest moment was getting invited by the Texas Rangers to sing “God Bless America” for the first game of the ALCS Championship game in October of 2011. That night I sang for over 52,000 in the stadium and over 6 million on National TV. I was also invited back to sing at the 4th game of the 2015 ALDS Series. I continue to sing for them today. 

I thank God every day that He allows me to wake up healthy and go out and sing for Seniors and do what I love so much. Because after 40 years of singing part-time … I’m finally doing it … MY WAY!
